Confabulation Presents: The Shortest Story

Confabulation Montreal

Company website

It’s that time of year again!

Confabulation is ready to kick it in to high gear for one wild and frenetic evening of two-minute tales. Our mission: jam a whole slew of these little pip-squeaks into one night! Last year we managed a whopping thirty-seven stories, and this year we’re looking for a solid thirty-five. Can we do it? Well, we’ve done it before and we’ll do it again! So if you’ve got a bold and beautiful tale that can be told in 120 seconds or less, a snapshot of human existence you might say, then sign up for Confabulation Presents: The Shortest Story VI to become a part of our living scrapbook.

We’re accepting stories for this event now, so whether you’re small, tall, plump, or svelte, we want to hear about the beautiful palace that holds the stuff that makes you you. Just to say though, we're right around the holidays so already feeling pretty full. But send in your stories anyway. We'll take a little walk, see if we can squeeze a few more in.

Saturday, February 27th at 8PM

What if you entered an empty rehearsal hall and suddenly an audience appears? Joseph Ste-Marie brings his experimental scripted/improvised one-man show, This Show is Broken back to the stage! This remount blends the 2021 Digital Theatre production from the Montreal FRINGE Festival and the original 2015 production at the 2nd annual Shortstanding Festival. Ste-Marie must perform his show as he explores his life, struggles, missteps, and tries to show that it’s not too late to pursue your dreams…. However, Joseph is challenged to be honest with himself so his show can be authentic as possible without being blinded by ambition.

The Creator of the Universe is coming to Montréal for the first time ever! God takes the stage in the form of Montréal actor Donald Rees in An Act of God: the divinely funny, critically acclaimed Broadway hit play by David Javerbaum, in which God and His devoted angels answer the deepest questions that have plagued mankind since creation.
