Montreal’s great festival tradition continues with MPROV: the 5th Annual Montreal Improv Festival, October 6-9 at Mainline Theatre.

Montrealers will be welcoming the world’s bravest, most daring, and most inventive to their fair island this Fall. From October 6-9, improvisers from New York City, Denver, Toronto, Montreal and Beyond will be converging at MPROV: The Montreal Improv Festival at Mainline Theatre. This is the Expo of Improv, the groups will present shows that push the boundaries of the form and expand your consciousness.

Here’s a brief look at ways the out-of-towners will bedazzle. Wilder and Wilder from Denver, Colorado will be presenting a one man improvised Broadway musical. Dearly Beloved from New York City, New York, will invite the recently deceased to share their former life with us in “The Wake”. And Sex T-Rex from Toronto, Ontario describes their show in jungle sounds “Grrr, wah-ah-wah-ah, scooscooscooscoo, eeeee-ahahahahah, (rainfall), pitterpatterpitterpattter, buzzzz, flutterflutterflutter.”

Montreal’s homegrown troupes will scintillate as well. Improv superstars Uncalled For, The Bitter End, On The Spot, Queen and Montreal Improv will all be bringing their particular forms of genius to the mix.

The incredible line-up of shows during this exposition of improv are on every night at Mainline Theatre from Wednesday, Oct. 6th to Saturday Oct. 9th, kicking off at 8pm each night. For those who wish to hone their craft or have just always wanted to try improv, there will be workshops taught by festival participants.
