l’Association des étudiants de cycle supérieur en histoire de l’art et études en communication de McGill (AHCS GSA) vous invite à porter un regard critique sur le 375e anniversaire de Montréal.
While No One Was Looking présente une exposition d'art, un magazine imprimé, une table ronde d'artistes, une projection de film, et une mini exposition, qui commémore Montréal comme ville des peuples autochtones, des immigrants et des réfugiés. Le projet vise à souligner d'expériences et d'histoires marginalisées et de décentrer les célébrations dominantes du colonialisme.
Le vernissage de l'exposition et le lancement du magazine auront lieu le vendredi, 28 avril 2017 de 19h à 23h. L'exposition restera libre et ouverte au public pendant deux semaines; les copies du magazine seront gratuites et disponibles.

The McGill Art History & Communications Studies Graduate Student Association (AHCS GSA) invites you to turn a critical eye on Montreal’s 375th anniversary.
While No One Was Looking presents an art exhibition, print magazine, film screening, and artist panel discussion that commemorate Montreal as a city of Indigenous peoples, immigrants, and refugees. The project aims to foreground marginalized experiences and histories, and decenter dominant celebrations of colonialism.
The vernissage and magazine release will take place on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 7 – 11 pm. The exhibition will remain free and open to the public for two weeks; complimentary copies of the magazine will be available.

The Montreal Clown Festival is pleased to return to its roots at the home of the St. Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival to present a cabaret of new work, “New Recipes” featuring 12 brave clowns.
Under the direction of Gabe McKinney (Director, Old God; Speigleworld; Dell-Arte graduate and guest teacher), 12 performers developed short new works for the opening night of the 4-day Clown festival after a same-day, high-stakes workshop.
"Tango in fusion est une œuvre qui combine l’art du tango avec différents styles de danse. Ceux-ci permettent de visualiser par le mouvement et la dramaturgie, certains conflits socioculturels et émotionnels auxquels nous sommes tous confrontés.
Les artistes de tango in fusion s’expriment à travers d’histoires personnelles une extase de la danse du tango dans son essence. Ce qui permet aussi avec la diversité des autres types de mouvements et musique. une connexion avec le spectateur afin de visualiser et briser différents stéréotypes socioculturels."
What if you entered an empty rehearsal hall and suddenly an audience appears? Joseph Ste-Marie brings his experimental scripted/improvised one-man show, This Show is Broken back to the stage! This remount blends the 2021 Digital Theatre production from the Montreal FRINGE Festival and the original 2015 production at the 2nd annual Shortstanding Festival. Ste-Marie must perform his show as he explores his life, struggles, missteps, and tries to show that it’s not too late to pursue your dreams…. However, Joseph is challenged to be honest with himself so his show can be authentic as possible without being blinded by ambition.
