Ensemble Bonaventure invites you to come see an epic tale of war, love and sorcery as they present Henry Purcell’s Dido & Æneas, a musical spectacle in four acts with text by Nahum Tate. Featuring an all-star cast of vocalists, dancers, a dazzling score, and more, this production transports you to ancient Carthage to hear the dramatic tale of Queen Dido’s love affair with the Trojan hero Æneas, meeting her ultimate demise in her famous final lament. This production features period-appropriate instruments, historical pronunciation, and recreation of lost music - hear this musical drama in its original form for the first time!
