Amy Blackmore is the Executive and Artistic Director of MainLine Theatre and the Montreal Fringe Festival and the Bouge d’ici Dance Festival. An artist and META-nominated (Montreal English Theatre Awards) choreographer, her recent projects include direction of Kenny Streule’s Malunderstood, Oren Safdie’s Gratitude and MainLine Theatre’s Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show. Her cultural collaborations include the visioning of the Fringe World Congress (2016) which garnered MainLine a nomination to the prestigious Grand Prix du Conseil des arts de Montréal, the chairing of the Quebec Drama Federation Congress Shaping the Future of English Theatre in Quebec (2018) and collaborating with the Reykjavik and Gothenburg Fringe Festivals on the the International Fringe Arts Exchange (2024, 2025). Amy was a finalist for the Montreal Junior Chamber of Commerce’s Young Cultural Entrepreneur Award (2019) and a leadership fellow at the Business/Arts Canadian Arts Summit (2019). With over 15 years of grant jury experience, she works with Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal (PWM) and the English Language Arts Network (ELAN) as a grant consultant. She was President of the Quebec Drama Federation from 2015-2018 and recently completed her ten-year tenure on their board of directors. Amy is now the Vice-President of the Caisse Desjardins de la Culture and the President of Parts+Labour_Danse.

Having sat on juries for Canada Council for the Arts, le Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec and le Conseil des arts de Montréal, Amy works with Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal (PWM) and the English Language Arts Network (ELAN) as a grant writing consultant for artists.

With over 600 performances by 500 artists last year, we’re planning to welcome between 100 and 110 companies through the Lottery. FringeMTL offers a multidisciplinary, diverse, and bilingual program for Montreal audiences.

Avez-vous un projet qui ne s'inscrit pas tout à fait dans une salle traditionnelle? Venez-vous tout juste de penser à un projet parfait pour FringeMTL? La Programmation OFF pourrait être pour vous! Apprenez comment l'OFF fonctionne, comment s'inscrire, et toutes sortes d'astuces pratiques comme comment signer des contrats avec des salles.

Le OFF Fringe constitue notre programmation « apportez-votre-salle ». Dans le cadre du OFF, les compagnies participantes peuvent choisir leur propre horaire entre le 3 et 21 juin 2026. Les compagnies auront accès aux ateliers, au système de billetterie, aux opportunités de réseautage et du support général de l’équipe du FringeMTL.

Comment est-ce que la programmation OFF diffère de la programmation du Tirage au sort?

Vous serez en charge de réserver votre salle ou lieu de représentation, des besoins techniques ainsi que de votre propre équipe technique et de billetterie.

Do you have a project in mind that doesn’t quite fit in a traditional venue? Are you on the waitlist and eager to put on your show? Did you just think of a project that would be perfect for FringeMTL? Then OFF Programming might be for you! Learn how OFF works, how to apply to participate, and give tips in regards to signing contracts with venues.

The OFF Fringe is our “bring-your-own-venue” programming. As part of the OFF, participating companies can choose their own schedule between June 3 and 21, 2026. Companies will have access to workshops, the box office system, networking opportunities, and general support from the FringeMTL team.

How does the OFF programming differ from the Lottery programming? You’ll be responsible for booking your own venue or performance space, managing your technical requirements, and assembling your own technical and box office team.

Si vous complétez toutes les étapes d’inscription avant le 31 octobre à 17:00, vous bénéficiez d’un rabais spécial sur les frais de festival - les prix de l’an dernier. L’offre est pour un temps limité. Voici les étapes: 

1. Lisez les détails de l’inscription à la Programmation OFF

2. Payez le frais d’administration (choisissez-votre-prix)

3. Lorsque vous aurez payé, vous recevrez un lien pour accéder au formulaire d’inscription. (Il peut prendre quelques minutes à arriver).

What is the OFF Early Bird Special?
If you complete all registration steps before October 31 at 5 pm, you’ll receive a special discount on festival fees - last year’s rates! This offer is available for a limited time. Here are the steps:

1. Read the registration details for the OFF Programming

2. Pay the administration fee (choose-your-price option)

3. Once payment is received, you’ll get a link to access the registration form (it may take a few minutes to arrive)

4. Pay the festival fee before October 31, 2025, at 5:00 PM to benefit from the OFF Early Bird Special

If you wish to apply, you MUST contact us before the deadline to express your interest by emailing artistes@montrealfringe.ca. Applications for OFF Programming will be accepted until Friday, February 20 at 5:00 PM (Eastern Time).
