Company website

F R A G M E N T S is meant to be a mosaic-like exhibition representing 35 different emerging artists from Concordia. The artists had complete conceptual freedom to present one or more artworks demonstrating their own artistic research.

All participants have rubbed shoulders in one way or another through the Faculty of Fine Arts of Concordia University. Now grouped under a new roof, the MainLine Gallery, they are reflecting on what it means to be emerging as an artist in the present moment.

The exhibited works, all special pieces of fragments, congregating together in one event, will allow us to ponder on what it means to make art today and in the future. It's to give the chance for all to stop, take a moment in time and ask, " now what? “. So many choices are now available, it is up to the artists to decide for themselves.

F R A G M E N T S wants to challenge our everyday lives, seemingly heading towards increasingly non-linear and fractional ways of existence. Events often manifest themselves differently and come together and apart in new and somewhat unsettling ways.

All these elements incite us to think further: where will we be in a year or even five?
