Pour célébrer le lancement de leur saison 2014, la compagnie montréalaise POUR CORPS ET LUMIÈRES présentera une soirée de performance, d’interactions, de photographie et de vidéos ainsi qu’une création originale intitulée L’EMBARQUEMENT.
Le travail de la jeune compagnie explore les frontières entre la noirceur et la lumière, la forme et l’imaginaire. Ils recherchent l’immobilité méditative, les volumes qui se meuvent, les mots chuchotés et les lumières qui caresse la silhouette d’un corps qui s’est déjà transformé, est déjà rendu ailleurs.
Le résultat de leur travail est un spectacle chaleureux et intime qui fut présenté dans trois festivals, deux résidences et plus de vingt performances lors de leur première année en tant que compagnie. La chorégraphe Stéphanie Morin-Robert est actuellement artiste en résidence au Mainline Theater et le travail que vous verrez dans ce même théâtre est l’une des deux pièces que la compagnie amènera sur la route pour leur tournée intitulée Travail Rouge. Vous pouvez voir la première du deuxième spectacle, intitulé COMING AND GOING, en quatre soirées à Tangente en Février 2014. Ils vont ensuite amener les deux pièces sur la route pour 41 représentations, soit à New York, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Victoria et Vancouver.
L’évènement est une chance pour le public et les gens qui supportent le projet de rencontrer les membres de la compagnie, d’assister à une performance live, de voir une sélection de leur travail depuis la dernière année, de festoyer et de voir des vidéos de la résidence de la compagnie dans la Baie de Fundy en Nouvelle-Écosse en août 2013. Une exposition de photos prises par Michael Kovacs et Stéphanie Morin-Robert sera aussi présentée pendant la soirée. Les sommes recueillies de la vente des billets et des photos seront réinjectées pour aider les sept membres de la compagnie à se déplacer d’une ville à l’autre pendant la tournée Travail Rouge. C’est aussi une chance pour les gens qui ont aidées de près ou de loin et qui ont supportés le projet de parler avec les participants et de les entendre sur la direction que prendra le travail pour l’année 2014.

To celebrate the launch of their 2014 season Montreal dance company FOR BODY AND LIGHT will be presenting an evening of performance, interaction, still images and video, featuring a 30 minute piece entitled L’EMBARQUEMENT
The young company’s work explores the interface between darkness and light, form and imagination. Meditative stillness becomes moving shapes, whispered words mix with music while the light catches only the ghost of a body as it flashes past.
The result is a warm and intimate show that has been presented at three festivals, two residencies and 20 performances in their first year as a company.
Choreographer Stéphanie Morin-Robert is currently Mainline Theatre’s artist-in-residence, and the work you’ll see at Mainline is one of two pieces the company will take on the road for their Travail Rouge tour. You can catch the premiere of the second—COMING AND GOING—in four shows at Tangente in Montreal in February. They will then take both pieces on the road for 41 shows in New York, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Victoria and Vancouver.
The event is a chance for the public and friends of the project to meet members of the company, catch a live dance show, see selections of their work from the past year, party and view video from the company’s residency on the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia.
An exhibit of photos of the company by Michael Kovacs and Stéphanie Morin-Robert will also premiere that same night. Proceeds from tickets and the photo exhibit will be put towards helping the company’s seven members actually get from venue to venue during the Travail Rouge tour. It’s also a chance for people who have helped and supported this exciting project to talk with the participants and hear about where their work is taking them in 2014.

What if you entered an empty rehearsal hall and suddenly an audience appears? Joseph Ste-Marie brings his experimental scripted/improvised one-man show, This Show is Broken back to the stage! This remount blends the 2021 Digital Theatre production from the Montreal FRINGE Festival and the original 2015 production at the 2nd annual Shortstanding Festival. Ste-Marie must perform his show as he explores his life, struggles, missteps, and tries to show that it’s not too late to pursue your dreams…. However, Joseph is challenged to be honest with himself so his show can be authentic as possible without being blinded by ambition.
"Tango in fusion est une œuvre qui combine l’art du tango avec différents styles de danse. Ceux-ci permettent de visualiser par le mouvement et la dramaturgie, certains conflits socioculturels et émotionnels auxquels nous sommes tous confrontés.
Les artistes de tango in fusion s’expriment à travers d’histoires personnelles une extase de la danse du tango dans son essence. Ce qui permet aussi avec la diversité des autres types de mouvements et musique. une connexion avec le spectateur afin de visualiser et briser différents stéréotypes socioculturels."
