Revolution They Wrote: Short Works Feminist Theatre and Performance Festival

Company website

Revolution They Wrote: Short Works Feminist Theatre and Performance Festival presented in partnership with MainLine Theatre is a 4-day event that aims to present new feminist works. With these works, we create an artistic space that is primed to educate, provoke and inspire change both on the stage and in our daily lives.

Program 2 is taking place in the Gallery with the following shows:

Like Jane
By Ella Kohlman, Taylor Paskar, Madie Joliffe, Leni Krivy, Rose Tavormina and Gabriella Pettigrew
In September of 2016 the trial of Brock Turner was brought to a close. This case pertained to defendant Brock Turner sexually assaulting an unconscious woman at a fraternity party. Constructed from personal stories and verbatim trial documents, this piece aims to explore modern rape culture and what it means for young women today.

Crybaby by Kalale Dalton
Directed by Jesse Stong
So you have these memories, right?
All sorta hanging above your head like tangled mobiles. Pieces of songs that remind you of your dad in college, the smell of chlorine, your mother’s hand writing, a card you made for your sister. I will show you, I will show you, I will show you.

At Home with Gisèle
By Évelyne Laniel
Directed by Jed Tomlinson
At Home with Gisèle supplies the modern women with tips and tricks. Through the charming and very kitsch character of Gisèle, the public will relive the paradox of the woman in the 80s, stuck between the celebrations of social gains and the desire of disassociation from the feminist movement.

tldr; smh
By Burcu Emeç
